UniversalUnitarian
- Unitarians believe that there is one God (the Father) and reject the idea of the trinity. They believe that Jesus was a great prophet and teacher, but not God Himself. They believe that He definitely had moral authority but that He never claimed to be God.
- Many Unitarians believe in religious pluralism or the idea that something can be taken from the teachings of all religions. However most of them find their core beliefs in Christ's teachings and model their lives on Christian values.
- Believe that humanity is basically good and therefore reject the idea that Jesus' death on the cross was necessarily an act of redemption or that He rose from the dead. They do not think we are inherently corrupt but capable of both good and evil.
- Some conservative Unitarians are sola scriptora (use the Bible alone) but many of the more liberal sects will read texts from many books, not just the Bible.
- They believe in gender equality and use gender-inclusive language.
- Believe that there's no reason that rational thought, reason, science, and philosophy can't co-exist with God.
- Some believe that though the authors of the Bible were inspired by God, they were human too and therefore human error in the Bible is a possibility.
- Reject the ideas of predestination and hell.
- Believe that no one religion can claim absolute authority on theology. (Don't like the idea of "my way is the only way.")
